PAST IN MIND Friday 3rd August trip to other heritage archaeological sites.
We are going to visit other archaeological sites THIS FRIDAY 3RD AUG as discussed at our Workshop day last week. It is a great opportunity to see a dig in action. So here is the information you need –
Mind volunteers who need transport –
Minibus will leave Heffernan at 10am. I imagine we will be back mid-afternoon.
Leominster volunteers please meet Jenny at Coop car park (opposite Aldi) at 10.15am.
We are going to Bredenbury and Edwin Ralph sites.
Please make sure you wear suitable waterproof shoes/boots and bring rain wear (Weather!!)
Bring a packed lunch please
Volunteers who are making their own way to the sites – I attach a map. Please park in the yard at Manor Farm. We have been given permission.
We are meeting at Edwin Ralph (Acton B is no longer open to us) at 11am.
Volunteers who need transport would you please let Jenny know .
Saturday July 28th: (10.45am – 3pm)
Past in Mind Heritage Project Workshop day: “What do we know so far?”
The venue is Falcon Mews, Bromyard (Falcon Hotel). Parking is available in the hotel car park.
10.45 Coffee and Introduction to the day
11.00 Presentation & discussion on the journey so far – archaeological perspective. See new images of the site from LIDAR.
12.00 Presentation, displays and discussion on the journey so far – historical perspective
1.00 Lunch: Sandwiches and cake – £2.50 + chat
2.00 The plan comes together to prepare for – excavation at Studmarsh, further historical research + continuing journeys of the volunteers.
Please note: Mind volunteers may travel by minibus by booking a place by 25th July with Jenny McMillan
Thursday July 19th: (10am – 4pm)
Activity to draw up the archaeological plan from the survey data, and also to introduce volunteers to the Museum service.
The venue is The Museum Resource and Learning Centre, 58 Friars Street, Hereford, HR4 OAS
